Barrie Resident Charge With Causing a Disturbance A 21 year-old Barrie man was arrested early Friday morning after the Owen Sound Police Service responded to a disturbance in the downtown core.
Shortly before 2:00 AM police were in the 300 block of 8th Street East when they observed an altercation involving several individuals. The parties were separated but one male continued to shout obscenities after being cautioned against doing so by police.
The man was arrested for the criminal offence of Causing a Disturbance. He was later released and will appear in court in September.

Owen Sound Law Enforcement Torch Run Update: Event is rescheduled for June 10th due to possible rain.
Media are invited to promote and visit the Torch Run along the 800 block of 10th Street West. Permission to attend the Summer Games qualifier hosted at West Hill Secondary School should be gained by contacting Bluewater District School Board or West Hill Secondary School administration.

Overnight Winter Parking By-Law Now in Effect The Owen Sound Police Service is reminding residents that the city’s overnight winter parking by-law is in effect from December 01st until March 31st. Parking on any city street is prohibited from 1:00 am to 7:00am, during these dates.

Freezin for a Reason - 24 Polar Bear Dips in 24 Hours Two Owen Sound Police Services officers will be "Freezin' for a Reason" as they complete 24 Dips in 24 Hours at the 8th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Polar Bear Dip. Please come out and show your support as Detective Constable Hartley and Sergeant Kitto complete 24 Polar Bear Dips in 24 Hours to raise awareness and funds for the Winter Games. Their first Dip begins at 10:00 p.m. on December 30th.
