Owen Sound Boy Charged with Weapons Offence and Breach of Probation Order

On Tuesday February 14, 2017 Owen Sound Police responded to a call where a boy was acting out violently in home on the east side of the city.  The incident began when the 14 year old boy became more aggressive towards the family after an earlier argument.  During the confrontation, the boy broke furniture and punched holes in a wall.

At about 7:30p.m. the boy picked up a large splintered piece of wood from the broken furniture and threatened the victim with death.  The boy then retrieved a golf club from his bedroom and again threatened the victim.  The victim was able to escape the residence and called police.

The investigation is ongoing and the boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act currently, faces the charges of:

  1. Assault with a Weapon
  2. Failing to Comply with a Probation Order
  3. Failing to Comply with a Probation Order

The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
