NewsPedestrian struck by carNovember 20, 2009 Inspector Stephen MacKinnon stated, “Just past 7 o’clock this morning Officers responded to a collision at the corner of 14th Street and 4th Avenue West involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle. ” The pedestrian, a 58-year-old Owen Sound woman was walking southbound on 4th Avenue West crossing 14th Street West when she was struck by a car that was northbound on 4th Avenue West and making a right turn onto 14th Street West. The 55-year-old Owen Sound area male driver failed to see the woman in the overcast and wet morning. The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield the right-of-way to the pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to hospital by ambulance with a fractured left shoulder. << Previous Page |
