Man Arrested on Drug Charges

A 59 year old Owen Sound man faces drug related charges following a police raid at his residence. This evening members of the Owen Sound Drug Unit, Criminal Investigation Branch, and CORE Unit executed a search warrant at an eastside apartment complex bordering the City.

 

Police seized $4500.00 worth of marihuana that had been packaged for sale and a quantity of ground marihuana that would likely be manufactured into cannabis resin. Also seized was a small amount of cash and items associated with drug trafficking.

 

Thomas Hamilton, 59 years of Owen Sound has been charged with possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

 

He remains in police custody and will appear in the Owen Sound Court tomorrow morning for a bail hearing.
