NewsThree Arrested in TheftDecember 22, 2009 Members of the Owen Sound Police Criminal Investigation Branch and HEAT Unit, with the assistance of the CORE Unit, executed a search warrant this morning at a downtown apartment resulting in the arrest of three Owen Sound males. Inspector Stephen MacKinnon stated, “Security personnel at a retail store in the Heritage Place Mall observed the actions of two males last Friday who were able to steal a jacket before being stopped. One of the males on the store surveillance system was identified by a CORE Unit police officer who was able to obtain a search warrant for the male’s residence.” Police located the stolen jacket, valued at $230, as well as a small quantity of marihuana. A 30-year-old male who recently moved to Owen Sound from the Toronto area has been charged with one count each of Theft Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property, and Breach of Probation. A 44-year-old Owen Sound male has been charged with one count of Theft Under $5,000. A third Owen Sound male, 28-years-old, has been charged with Possession of Marihuana. All three males were released from custody on Promise to Appears and Officer-in-Charge Undertakings and are scheduled to appear in Owen Sound Court on the 28th of January 2010. << Previous Page |
