Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people face drug related charges following a police raid at a downtown apartment. On Monday evening members of the Owen Sound Drug Unit, Criminal Investigation Branch, Heat Unit and CORE Unit executed a search warrant following a drug trafficking investigation.

Police seized $10,000.00 worth of crack cocaine and a smaller quantity of marihuana. Also seized, $1770.00 in cash and other items associated with drug trafficking such as scales and a debt list.

Charged are:

Leonidas Hidalgo-Diaz 24 years of Toronto has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marihuana, possession of proceeds of crime and breach of probation.

Timothy Waltenburgh 40 years of Owen Sound has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marihuana and possession of proceeds of crime.

Both remain in police custody and will appear in the Owen Sound Court tomorrow morning for a bail hearing.
