NewsTwo Arrested on Drug ChargesFebruary 12, 2010 An Owen Sound couple were arrested last evening after a search warrant was executed on their apartment. Members of the Owen Sound Police Service Drug Unit, assisted by officers from the Criminal Investigation Branch as well as Uniformed Patrol Officers, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant in the 200 block of 8th Street East last evening. The warrant was executed after 32-year-old Paul McDougall was stopped after he exited his apartment building and found to be in possession of cocaine, digital weigh scales, and $800 cash. His 23-year-old girlfriend, Megan McQuiggin, was found inside the apartment along with a small quantity of cocaine, marihuana, and prescription pills. The total value of drugs seized was over $1,200.00. McDougall was charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Purpose of Trafficking; Possession of Dilaudid for the Purpose of Trafficking; Possession of Marihuana; Possession of Morphine; and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. McQuiggin was charged with Possession of Dilaudid for the Purpose of Trafficking; Possession of Cocaine; Possession of Marihuana; Possession of Morphine; and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. Both were held in custody overnight and were taken to the Owen Sound Courthouse for a bail hearing this morning. |
