NewsPedestrian Struck by Vehicle - Failure to RemainMay 30, 2010 The Owen Sound Police Service is investigating a Fail to Remain Accident that occurred on Sunday May 30th, 2010. At approximately 4:30PM a 53 year old man was crossing westbound at the intersection of 8th Street West at 2nd Avenue West. He was subsequently struck by a vehicle that was travelling southbound on 2nd Avenue West, that apparently disobeyed the red light. The male was knocked to the ground in the intersection. The vehicle stopped a short distance south of the intersection. The male eventually was able to get up from the roadway. At this time the vehicle sped away southbound towards the Mill Dam. The suspect vehicle involved is a mid-sized grey car. The male reported that it was being operated by a female, and there was also female passenger in this vehicle. The male sustained injuries to his right hip and ribs, however did not need immediate medical attention. It is unknown if the suspect vehicle sustained any damage.
