NewsArrests Made from Incident in Harrison ParkJuly 29, 2010 Owen Sound Police Service Inspector Stephen MacKinnon stated, “As the Detectives looked closer at the circumstances surrounding the incident it became clearer that this was not a random act of violence as it first appeared. Eventually their investigation led them to look closer at the female “acquaintance” of the victim, which has led to her arrest and that of her boyfriend.” The female “acquaintance” and the victim had become “friends” on Facebook. On Tuesday afternoon they were using the social network and arranged to meet at Harrison Park later that evening. Unbeknownst to the victim, the female had misrepresented her age as being older than she was. The victim also did not know the female’s boyfriend had found out about the meeting and was coming from Walkerton that night to confront him. Charged with one count each of Robbery, and Assault Causing Bodily Harm are a 17-year-old female and a 19-year-old male, both from Walkerton. They were held in custody overnight at the Owen Sound Police station and taken to Court in Owen Sound this morning for a bail hearing. The victim’s wallet and bracelet have not been recovered. << Previous Page |
