About UsThe Owen Sound Police Service has proudly provided community based policing to the residents of Owen Sound for over 150 years. Our officers and civilian support staff provide 24 hour, 7 day a week protection responding to over 18,000 incidents for calls for service yearly in the City of Owen Sound. The Police Service operates from our headquarters located at 922 2nd Avenue West, Owen Sound. We have a community outreach office located at Heritage Place Shopping Centre. A network of over 1,500 volunteers assist the Police Service in proactive crime prevention awareness; Citizens on Patrol (COPS), Victim Services, Block Parents, Bicycle Safety Committee, and the Drug & Alcohol Advisory to name a few. Volunteers are an essential element to the well being and cost effective delivery of policing to the citizens of Owen Sound. Presentations to special interest groups on crime prevention, women's safety awareness (Traveling Alone Program), children's service groups (Brownies, Guides, Scouts, etc.) can also be arranged. If you are interested in volunteering in any of these or other programs, or wish to book a presentation, please call or visit the Volunteer on duty at the Community Police Office, Heritage Place Shopping Centre at (519) 371-1276.
