Posted on November 18, 2019

On Sunday September 6, 2019 at approximately 4:10 pm Owen Sound Police, Fire and Grey County EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 19th Street West and 4th Ave West.

The investigation revealed that a 2016 white Kia Van driven by a 39 year old Kemble resident was east bound on 19th Street West while a 2018 red Chevrolet pick up driven by a 39 year old Owen Sound resident was northbound on 4th Ave West.  The White Kia Van was facing a stop sign and entered the intersection where it came in collision with the red Chevrolet truck.

Four of the five persons involved in the collision were treated for non-life threatening injuries at Grey Bruce Health Services.

The driver of the white Kia van was charged with failing to yield to thru traffic.

The Owen Sound Police want to remind drivers to be extra cautious when driving in the City.  There have been a number of changes to the flow of traffic which has been causing some concern for motorists.  The city has erected signage to direct drivers through these changes.  Drivers have been observed disregarding the new signs putting other motorists and pedestrians at risk.  Violations contrary to the signs can result in charges.  These changes can be reviewed on the City’s web site.
