A 30-year-old Owen Sound man was arrested just after 9 p.m. after he fled from police on an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV). Patrols officers observed the vehicle being operated in contrary to the city by-laws along 10th Street East and attempted a traffic stop to investigate. The suspect was also carrying a passenger on the machine. The suspect made a dangerous maneuver and sped north bound along the 1000 block of 1st Avenue East which is a designated south bound road. Officers were able to follow the tire tracks to an address on 3rd Avenue East where the suspect surrendered to police. It was determined that he was a prohibited driver and he subsequently provided breath samples more than two times the legal limit. He is charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, driving while prohibited and operation over 80. He will appear in court on March 4th, 2021.


A 36-year-old Owen Sound man remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing this morning after being arrested and charged with break, enter and commit theft, possession of break and enter tools, possession of property obtained by crime and breaching conditions of a previous bail order. Owen Sound Police responded to a burglar alarm at an east side retail store just after 3:00 a.m. and determined a suspect had forced entry to an exterior door. Police cleared the store and determined that the suspect had left. They were able to track footprints in the fresh snow and located the suspect at another east side business which he was prohibited from being at due to outstanding break and enter charges. He was taken in custody and found to be in possession of property from the break and enter as well as break and enter tools including bolt cutters.
