On December 31, 2020 at approximately 11:15 pm Owen Sound Police attended an east side apartment complex to investigate a noise complaint and a possible breach of the Reopening Ontario Act. 

During the investigation a 19-year-old male assaulted the investigating officer.  The accused was arrested and charged with: assault police, breaching the Reopening Ontario Act and further charged under the noise bylaw.  The accused was later released on an undertaking and 2 Provincial Act summons with a February court date.

The Owen Sound Police were kept busy throughout the night with 5 arrests and a warrant sought for another person.  There was a total of 12 charges laid for various Provincial and Criminal Code Offences.
