The Owen Sound Police made three arrests on Thursday evening during separate incidents

Posted on April 17, 2021

A concerned driver who was witnessing a motor vehicle being driven erratically throughout the streets on the city’s east side quickly notified the Owen Sound Police.  Officers responded to the call at approximately 8:30 p.m. locating the vehicle, a 2010 Dodge pick up in the 500 block of 7th Avenue East.  The driver continued for several blocks before finally coming to a safe stop for police. It was immediately evident that the driver was not fit to operate a motor vehicle at which time he was taken into custody for impaired operation.  Upon the identity of the driver being established it was discovered that the driver had just been arrested in December 2020 as well for impaired operation, again while driving in the city of Owen Sound. It was determined by a Drug Recognition Officer after an assessment was completed, that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by the concentration of drugs in his body.  The 42-year-old Owen Sound resident will be appearing on February 18th, 2021 to answer to the charges of impaired operation and driving a vehicle while his driver's licence was already under suspension.

Just before 8:00 p.m. the Owen Sound Police arrested a 39-year-old city resident after an investigation revealed that he had failed to comply with a condition of his previous release order from the court.  He as well will be appearing on February 18th, 2021 in the Owen Sound Court of Justice for the charge of breaching his release order.

Early Thursday evening the Grey Bruce OPP while dealing with a male party during an investigation discovered that the Owen Sound Police had a first instance warrant for his arrest.  The warrant had been issued for the charges of theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.  The 32-year-old Owen Sound resident was arrested by the OPP and later turned over to the Owen Sound Police.  He will be appearing next month in the Owen Sound Court of Justice to answer to the charges.
