On May 31st, 2024 at approximately 4:30 p.m., a lone male suspect entered a financial institution located in Owen Sound and passed a note to a teller demanding money, “...or else”.  

The male suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money before he fled the financial institution and the robbery was reported to police.

Owen Sound Police Service Uniform and Criminal Investigations Branch members immediately flooded the area of the financial institution and commenced a search for the male suspect.  The male suspect was located a short time later and was arrested without incident.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old man of the Municipality of Meaford has been arrested and held in custody for a show cause hearing.  The male was charged with robbery and possession of stolen property.
