The Owen Sound Police Service has charged a 28-year-old Owen Sound resident following an intimate partner violence investigation that resulted in the seizure of five illegal firearms, ammunition, and approximately $20,000 worth of suspected illicit drugs.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, members of the Owen Sound Police Service responded to a residence on the west side of the city following a report of intimate partner violence.

During the investigation, officers obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence associated to the accused.

During the search, officers seized five illegal firearms and ammunition, 137 grams of cocaine, approximately two grams of crystal methamphetamine, 142 ecstasy tablets, three digital scales, approximately $1,300 in Canadian currency, and one cellular phone.

The drugs seized have an estimated street value of approximately $20,000.

The accused has been charged with numerous criminal offences including assault, assault causing bodily harm, sexual assault, five counts of assault with a weapon, possession of cocaine and ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, pointing a firearm, and additional Criminal Code offences.

Due to the intimate partner violence nature of this investigation, the Owen Sound Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
