Owen Sound Police Make An Arrest In Bank Fraud Incident

On January 12th, 2026, Owen Sound Police were called to attend a local bank after receiving reports of a male attempting to cash a $40,283.99 cheque. 

The investigation revealed that the male had recently opened an account with the bank using fraudulent identification.  The bank employees worked quickly to identify the fraudulent cheque and contacted police.

As a result of this incident, Nathan DIDOMIZIO from the city of Guelph, Ontario was arrested on scene and is being charged with the following offences:

1)      Fraud over $5000

2)      Obstructing a Peace Officer

3)      Forged Documents

4)      Fail to Comply with conditions of his probation order.

He was held in custody at the Owen Sound Police Service pending a bail hearing scheduled for January 13th, 2026.
