Owen Sound Police Seize More Illicit Drugs, Proceeds of Crime

Members of the Owen Sound Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch have seized illicit drugs and cash proceeds of crime following the execution of a search warrant in Owen Sound.

On July 1, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence located in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East, after a uniformed officer observed a large quantity of drugs in an apartment while attending a call to remove unwanted person(s) from the premises. As a result of the investigation, police seized 214 grams of Fentanyl, 112 grams of Cocaine, and 52 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, as well as approximately $1,200 in cash proceeds of crime.

The estimated street value of the seized illicit substances is approximately $110,000. The 214 grams of seized toxic fentanyl equates to approximately 2140 individual sales.

Emergency Services within the City of Owen Sound have responded to a significant increase in overdose related calls for service over the recent days. Police are hopeful that these occurrences together with on-going investigative and enforcement efforts will contribute to disrupting the local illicit drug supply and help prevent further overdoses in our community.

Police anticipate charges will be laid in relation to this investigation in the near future. A supplemental media release will be provided.
