With the first snowfall of the season, the Owen Sound Police are asking motorists to slow down and be cognizant of the road conditions while driving.

On November 29th, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m. a motor vehicle was travelling northbound in the 500 block of 9th Avenue East, Owen Sound, when it lost control due to wet and slippery road conditions.  The single vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and struck the curb, causing the vehicle to roll over on to its side in the ditch.  The driver, a 22 year old male from Owen Sound, was the only occupant and remained uninjured, thanks to his proper use of the seatbelt.  His vehicle, however, sustained major damage.  No other vehicles were involved.   

Members of the Owen Sound Police Service and the Owen Sound Fire Department remained on scene while the vehicle was pulled from the ditch by a tow company and removed.
