On Tuesday January 21, 2025 at approximately 8:30 p.m. a 2010 Mercedes travelling westbound on 8^th Street East struck the rear of an unoccupied Chevrolet Cruz that was parked on the side of the roadway with its hazard lights activated.  The Chevrolet Cruz was pushed forward by the impact of the collision and subsequently struck a 24- year-old female who was shoveling snow. The vehicle also hit a Volkswagen Jetta that was parked in the driveway.

The female victim was taken to Brightshores Hospital by ambulance and was later transferred to a London hospital for further treatment of what preliminary information would suggest are serious injuries. 

 All three involved vehicles were towed from the scene.

 The 29-year-old male driver of the Mercedes, who remained at the scene, was charged with Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm.
