  • OSPS to Host Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run across Grey Bruce Wed. June 10, 2026

    On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) is proud to once again host the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Ontario. OSPS members, local Special Olympic Athletes, along with Saugeen Shores Police Service, Hanover Police Service, West Grey Police Service, and the Ontario Provincial Police, will be walking and running routes across Grey and Bruce counties in Port Elgin, Kincardine, Hanover, and Durham. The event will culminate with a final run in Owen Sound and a BBQ at Owen Sound District Secondary School.

  • Eight Arrested During Continued Downtown Drug Enforcement Initiative

    The Owen Sound Police Service has completed a follow-up enforcement initiative aimed at addressing the ongoing public consumption of illicit drugs within the downtown core.

    On May 25 and 26, 2026, members of the Criminal Investigations Branch, Drug Enforcement Unit and the C.O.R.E. Unit carried out a coordinated operation utilizing both uniform and plainclothes officers. The initiative targeted individuals observed openly using illicit substances in areas accessible and visible to the public.

  • Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Child

    At approximately 3:25 pm on May 19th 2026, the Owen Sound Police Service responded to reports of a motor vehicle colliding with a child pedestrian in the area of 14th Street West and Alpha Street. A four-year-old child was taken to hospital with unknown injuries that are not thought to be life threatening at this time. Officers would like to take this opportunity to remind all drivers to be extra vigilant with the increase in foot traffic that comes with warmer weather, especially in the times just before and after school. Pedestrians should also stay aware of their surroundings at all times and parents are encouraged to make sure their kids know how to stay safe when around busy streets.
