  • Youth in Policing Initiative

    The Owen Sound Police Service is now accepting applications for Youth in Policing, Summer Students positions.

    This employment opportunity is in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI). This employment opportunity will be based on 16-20 hours per week for the months of July and August, 2023 (8 continuous weeks).

    The YIPI program is designed to enhance relationships between police and the communities they serve by developing positive working relationships and to promote youth participation and exposure to the policing work environment through educational and productive work assignments within the Owen Sound Police Service.

    The YIPI students will develop skills in delivering information on crime prevention and understanding the important role of community policing and peer to peer youth engagement.
