Downtown dispute leads to arrest of 22-year-old man for weapons offences.

At approximately 3:25 pm on May 19^th 2026, the Owen Sound Police Service responded to reports of a motor vehicle colliding with a child pedestrian in the area of 14^th Street West and Alpha Street. A four-year-old child was taken to hospital with unknown injuries that are not thought to be life threatening at this time. Officers would like to take this opportunity to remind all drivers to be extra vigilant with the increase in foot traffic that comes with warmer weather, especially in the times just before and after school. Pedestrians should also stay aware of their surroundings at all times and parents are encouraged to make sure their kids know how to stay safe when around busy streets.

The missing female reported missing to the media on April 25^th, 2026, has been found safe.  Police would like to thank the public for their assistance and are asking that all previous media release and photos be removed from publication and social media platforms.

Security guard assaulted after he attempted to break up a disturbance downtown. 

Owen Sound Police have arrested a 29-year-old male with robbery, aggravated assault, theft and breach of probation.
