AMBER Alert

The AMBER Alert Program is a voluntary co-operative program between law enforcement agencies and local broadcasters in response to the 1996 kidnapping of nine year old Amber Hagerman in Arlington, Texas. The community banded together to come up with innovative ways in which to make their community safer for their children and a unique partnership was created, saving children’s lives by issuing urgent alerts to the public when child abductions occur. The Owen Sound Police Service is an active partner in the AMBER Alert Program. Learn more: AMBER Alert – MissingKids.ca

If you see or hear an AMBER Alert, please read or listen carefully to all of the information provided.  Keep your eyes and ears open; you could be the difference between a very happy or very tragic ending to an abduction.

If you observe any persons or vehicles mentioned during an active AMBER Alert, immediately contact the Owen Sound Police or dial 9-1-1.
